CarePilot is a targeted search engine for local home health agencies and services. CarePilot allows comparisons from more than 8,000 Medicare-certified home health care providers in communities throughout the U.S.
Two overall care rankings potentially available are “quality of care,” which combines the 10 home health quality measures tracked by The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, with each given equal weight, into one numeric grade, and consumer ratings. The latter, potentially the most useful, was not available, at least in this area, probably reflecting the site's newness and lack of widespread use.
The site is promising information and rankings on additional health care service providers, such as nursing homes and hospitals, in coming months.
