NNDB is an intelligence aggregator that tracks the activities of people thry have determined to be noteworthy

What Company Is Offering:

NNDB is an intelligence aggregator that tracks the activities of people thry have determined to be noteworthy, both living and dead. Superficially, it seems much like a "Who's Who" where a noted person's curriculum vitae is available (the usual information such as date of birth, a biography, and other essential facts.) But it mostly exists to document the connections between people, many of which are not always obvious. A person's otherwise inexplicable behavior is often understood by examining the crowd that person has been associating with. Eventually, they will have synopses and analyses of creative works by the people in the database, including their books, films, and recordings.

How It Works:

The NNDB Mapper is a visual tool for exploring the connections between people in NNDB, linking them together through family relations, corporate boards, movies and TV, political alliances, and shadowy conspiracy groups. Maps can be saved and shared for others to explore.

CultureLoad is an online marketplace for digital works

What Company Is Offering:
CultureLoad is an online marketplace for digital works, it is not an online bank; CultureLoad does not operate money transfers. All money transfers are assigned by CultureLoad to be operated by PayPal or Moneybookers, and money transfers themselves costs money, too. This cost is called a "transaction fee," and is charged by PayPal and Moneybookers. CultureLoad has no impact on the imposition of transaction fees. The buyers therefore have to pay for transaction fees.
CultureLoad is located in Germany, but its artists and members are located all over the world. To provide a common, easy-to-use currency for artists and members worldwide, CultureLoad has introduced its own "currency", the "CultureCoin". One CultureCoin is 0.10 €. It doesn't matter where the artist is from or where the content will be sold, because CultureLoad users use this common "currency".

How It Works:
Once you are registered, you can use communication tools to connect with all other registered artists and members. But if you want to download music, films, photos or texts provided from the registered artist you must buy it (with the exception of Free Downloads). You first have to register at CultureLoad. Then you should use your account at PayPal or Moneybookers (or open a new one for free), and add money to these micro-payment system in order to transfer the money to CultureLoad. CultureLoad then sends the money to the artists. If you have enough money in your account you can buy the content you like.
