2007 Microentrepreneurship award

Citibank (China) Co Ltd and the China Banking Association yesterday announced the winners of the 2007 Microentrepreneurship Awards in China.

Oriented from a symbolic anniversary of United Nations' International Year of Microcredit 2005, it is the third annual ceremony in China, which recognizes the entrepreneurs' skills and contributions to building prosperity with microfinance support and helping less-advantaged individuals to improve their lives.

The awards include 7 conventional categories, Rural Agriculture, Non-Agriculture, Urban Trade, Processing, Service, and Rural and Urban Loan Officers. Meanwhile, three special awards were introduced this year. They are Innovation, Common Wealth, and Energy-efficiency and Environmental-protection.

This year a total of 198 applications for the Awards were received from around China. After several rounds of screening and field trip interviews, some 107 micro-entrepreneurs were selected as winners across all the prizes.

Wu Xiaoling, vice governor of the People's Bank of China, suggested, "It proves that microfinance is such as a powerful mechanism for empowerment and poverty reduction because it unleashes the drive of the poor to improve their own lives and grow out of deprivation. We should create and provide an environment that fosters the healthy development of microfinance."

Richard Stanley, chairman of Citibank (China) Co Ltd, noted, "As a locally incorporated bank in China, Citi remains deeply committed to making a positive and significant contribution to the wider community, and we are proud of our longstanding support of microfinance development in China."

"Citi congratulates all of the winners of this year's Awards program, and we look forward to being a key supporter of microfinance in China in the future." Mr. Stanley added.

Guaranteed SEO firm, Adviatech Corp., has announced a discount on their newly launched guaranteed search engine optimization plan for the month of October.

Tampa based search engine optimization company, Adviatech Corp. (www.adviatech.com), has announced a special offer for their guaranteed search engine optimization plan for the month of October. The guaranteed SEO plan has been a success (according to Adviatech Corp.) as many companies have entrusted Adviatech with their search engine optimization project based on the money back guarantee.

The guaranteed SEO service was officially launched earlier in 2007 with a few select industries. Last week, Adviatech expanded their list of accepted industries to include in their guaranteed search engine optimization plan. The list included many competitive industries which were not previously approved under the money back guaranteed search engine optimization service plan.

The month of October has always been the best time to start a “New Years” search engine optimization campaign. At least that’s the viewpoint of Adviatech Corp., Vice President, Jason Bland who commented today, “If a company is wanting to have their web site’s ranking increase by the new year, October is the best time to start a search engine optimization project. Most web sites start responding to the search engine optimization content changes and link building efforts performed by Adviatech in the third month of service.”

To promote the value of starting a search engine optimization project in October, Adviatech Corp., has launched a promotion which will end October 30, 2007. The promotion will allow companies to get a free month of guaranteed SEO management and save up to five hundred dollars ($500.00) off the initial search engine optimization project fee.

MedRecruit

What Company is Offering:
MedRecruit aims to pick up where other recruiting efforts leave off by explicitly including lifestyle in the process of matching doctors with positions. MedRecruit was founded last year by Sam Hazledine, a doctor and skiing champion who wanted to create better balance between doctors' work and personal lives.

How It Works:

Doctors who sign up for the free service, which currently serves just New Zealand and Australia, specify not just the details of their medical specialty and grade; they also tell MedRecruit what type of location they want and what sorts of family, cultural and recreational opportunities--skiing or surfing, for example. MedRecruit then helps find a good match among the hospitals and medical organizations it represents. Watchlists are available, as is 24-hour assistance, and MedRecruit facilitates all travel and accommodations. It even pays a 4 percent bonus to doctors who work exclusively through MedRecruit. Ultimately, the company says, the result is happier doctors and higher retention rates for the hospitals that hire them.
With thousands of jobs available at hundreds of hospitals across New Zealand and Australia.

RealSelf is a new product review site with a niche for anti-aging

What company is offering:
RealSelf is a new product review site with a niche for anti-aging.

How it works:
The two main components of the site are reviews, and the Q&A section. Both are easily accessible from the homepage and nearly every other page throughout the site. This makes for very easy site navigation and a continuous swarm of information on RealSelf. This is a review site and a community, so reviews are made by users, as are the Q&A sections. Any comment or response can be voted on for helpfulness, and these will be ordered accordingly on the site, so whether you’re reading a page of answers to a question, or reviews for a product, the most helpful will show on top.

Why is It different:
One unique factor for RealSelf is its algorithm, which will hunt and kill smam reviews. And to put the icing on the cake (sort of) those spam reviews that are created by companies hoping to inflate the recognition of their products will be publically outed, often resulting in the company to acknowledge their wrong doing.

Individual profiles are also used as self-promotional purposes, as well as mini-hubs for information. A user can enter information about themselves, which could be particularly helpful for healthcare professionals, etc. A map enables them to mark their office and provide contact information. Profile pages will also display the RealSelf content that’s proved most valuable to them, as well as the content they’ve created or interacted with throughout the community.
