Oobing does offer some functions not available on similar social networking sites; the chat function and photo-rating feature, to name a few. Its layout may seem less intimidating than MySpace or Facebook. Ample advertising space should generate considerable revenue, if the site proves successful.
Its interface will look very familiar to the MySpace user, and it offers most of the same options. Users register, create a profile, and keep in touch with contacts via live chat, messages, and blogs. A few things that separate Oobing from its competitors are the “Rate Photo” and “Send Ecard” functions, which let users do just that: rate other user’s photos and send your friends cards over email. Also, Oobing offers a unique chat function which lets you communicate with multiple contacts at one time. Unlike some other popular social networking sites, if you’re not signed up for the site, you cannot run searches or browse members.
