SpiralFrog is an ad-supported Web site got $2 million in funding

What Company Is Offering:
SpiralFrog is an ad-supported Web site. They sell ads on their pages to advertisers who want to talk to you. And they give the majority of that advertising revenue to the music publishers and labels who own the music you're downloading.

Most of their song and video downloads take a short, consistent amount of time to complete, during which they encourage you to keep discovering new areas of the Web site. Every page you visit allows them to serve more advertising, thus building the revenues they can pay to the content creators. As of now, they have over 800,000 songs available for you to download. You may download as many of these songs as you like – no limit. They are adding more songs and videos every week, so if you don’t see your favorite band, check back often to see the latest updates.
They do NOT ask you for a credit card. But they do ask for your time and attention.

How Much They Got From VCs:
They got $2 million in funding through the private placement of Senior Secured Exchangeable Notes. The Notes bear an interest rate of 12% annually with interest due quarterly commencing on January 1st, 2008. All proceeds from the net profits of the deal will be used to acquire additional content and expand their operations.
