HowFlow is a community-based tricks and howtos popularity website. It combines social bookmarking, blogging, and syndication with a form of non-hierarchical, democratic editorial control. Tricks, howtos and websites are submitted by users, and then promoted to the front page through a user-based ranking system.
How Is It Different:
This differs from the hierarchical editorial system that many other sites employ.Readers can view all of the tricks that have been submitted by fellow users in the "Upcoming" section. Once a trick has received enough votes, it appears on HowFlow's front page. Should the trick not receive enough votes, or if enough users report a problem with the submission, the trick will remain in the "upcoming" area, where it may eventually be removed. By the way: HowFlow is a pure Ruby on Rails Application.
