Blekko is a search company founded by Rich Skrenta and his core team from previous company Topix and Netscape’s Open Directory. Blekko was founded halfway through 2007 and has already earned itself an angel round from Ron Conway’s Baseline Ventures and two ex-Googlers.
How Much They Got From VCs:
Blekko, a Redwood Shores, Calif.-based online search startup, has called down $925,000 of a $3.07 million Series B round. No institutional investors are listed, although angels include both Ron Conway and Marc Andreesen. The company is run by former Topix CEO Rich Skrenta.
