MarketTools Inc., a San Francisco-based provider of on-demand market research, has called down $18.3 million of a $25 million Series E round led by Advanced Equities, according to a regulatory filing.

The combination of the two companies establishes the foundation for Customer Insight Management a new category of enterprise solutions based on gathering intelligence, sharing information, and applying insights throughout all phases of the product and customer lifecycle, from idea generation to new product development, in-market strategies, and customer engagement, retention and advocacy. CustomerSat Chairman and CEO John Chisholm has been named MarketTools' Executive Vice President and General Manager of the CustomerSat business unit, reporting to MarketTools' CEO Amal Johnson.
